Rose

My first pulpit supply engagement for 2017 (apart from a service in my own church on New Year's Day) was in the village of Slamannan.

It has been a few years since I was up there, and the congregation has come through some difficult times in the interim, not least of which was the condition of their church building. However, the sanctuary has had some amazing work done on it (see extra photo), and is now a modern fit-for-purpose building with - among many other improvements - new seating and lighting, a meeting room, kitchen and toilets, and all within the existing walls of the early 19th century structure.

One feature that has remained is the beautiful ceiling rose (main photo) above the main chancel area.
