Well, hello there!

Labor Day weekend began with a full morning at church, followed by a quiet afternoon at home. In the evening Bob and I decided to take a ride along the lake shore to a community called Grand River, where the Grand River flows into Lake Erie. We had heard from a friend that the Headlands area was overrun with deer. She had counted over 100 in people's yards last week. On our tour through Headlands and on out to Grand River, we probably saw 35 deer browsing beside the road and munching away at the greenery. They have no respect for property lines, these deer, much to the dismay of home owners whose gardens and landscape plantings are being destroyed. It has become a major problem. However, for a photographer, the proximity of these beautiful animals provides some wonderful photo opps.

We ended our tour in Grand River at a dockside restaurant known for its Lake Erie perch, and there we enjoyed a quiet meal followed by a beautiful ride home as the sun was setting...a peaceful ending to the day.
