It's an Act
I have company this weekend and we went to the Seaside aquarium. One of the main attractions is feeding the seals. For $1 you get a small tray of anchovy pieces. With anchovies in hand you head for the seals tank and be prepared, you will be cajoled, wooed and even given the most pathetic puppy-dog eyes possible, but it is all an act! Each of these seals has his own shtick and it is not something they have been trained to do. One of them turns around in the water and looks at you backward, another yells until he is fed. Some of them slap the water or splash. Now mind you, none of them is starving and all of them were born there.
We had a tough day of it. We started with breakfast, a wander through the aquarium and stopped in at a shop or two. Then it was back to the apartment to gather beach stuff. We had a good romp in the ocean until our feet and legs were practically numb from the cold. A two hour nap in the sun, on the sand rounded things off. We spent the late afternoon in Cannon Beach exploring galleries.
Blue skies, good friends and the ocean - what more could a girl ask for?
Happy blipping!
