Storm Stella

She's packing quite a punch!  This photograph was taken this morning at around 9:30, and I hope you can see how the wind is blasting the snow off the barn roof, and whipping it around in crazy "snow devils".  Just about two hours later, and it hasn't let up in intensity at all.  It's too windy to make going outside to try to stay on top of the snow accumulation with the shovel an option -- one minute the deck is blown clear, the next there's 6" or 7" piled up on it!

UPDATE:  It's now almost 5:00 p.m. and there's a good 24" on the ground now.  It's still snowing fiercely.  Our snowblower decided not to participate in today's fun and games, which means hand shoveling the pathways.  The snow came right over the tops of my wellies!  Thank heavens we have the tractor to plough the driveways!
