Burghley xc

Up mega early for fence stewarding at burghley horse trials. We were at the cottesmore leap (fence 21). Ordinarily this is a huge yet smoothly jumpable fence, this year however we seemed to have a few incidences of people not making it over, or not making it over with their horse. Not quite sure why, although the ground may have been a little cutting, making the horses tire quicker. I ended up in the ditch a couple of times leading out horses so look out for me on the BBC coverage. Lol. As far as we are aware all horses and riders are ok, with the exception of the south African horse 'heartbreak hill' who unfortunately broke his leg (pastern) on the flat and didn't make it off the course. :-(
