Mattie

My mother in law Mattie died - peacefully at last - yesterday evening. She waited until all the family who had gathered at her bedside at QEUH in Glasgow to leave for the night before slipping away.

She has much to be proud of - not least her fabulous children and grandchildren - and from my point of view, a very fine son indeed. I am so thankful to her and Alastair for bringing him into the world and therefore into mine. Their blessing is mine also.

Go well Mattie, wherever your journey next takes you, with all our love. Today the hellebores unfurled to show their beauty and to help remind us to mark your passing with grace x
