Wound up in Wexford

Geese

W had to drop stuff in to the accountant, so we took the opportunity to carry on east to Strumpshaw Fen, an RSPB reserve.  The weather was somewhat duller than yesterday, but it was still quite a pleasant spring day.

We went mainly with the intention of walking, so didn't take binoculars.  Apart from distant views of a marsh harrier, we mainly saw ducks and geese.  The front one of this pair was definitely camera shy - EVERY picture I took, it had dipped its head into the water.

We walked out to the Tower hide, where I took this photo.  On reaching the hide, we compared our "map my walk" tracks on our phones - see the extra of the 2 phones side by side.  We started the measurement at the same place, and we walked together, but despite this, I appear to have managed to walk 160m further than W!

We had intended to do a circular walk, but there was a warning about the condition of the path beyond the hide, discretion won out over valour, and we turned back and retraced our steps.  In total, we did about 4.5km.
