The Ugly Duckling
In 1919 André-Gustave Citroën founded the Citroën automobile company using his Dutch* surname as brandname.
The brand started out making the world's first mass-produced front-wheel drive car - the Traction Avant - but also one of the first cars to feature a unitary-type body, with no chassis frame holding the mechanical components as this Deux Chevaux, also nicknamed ‘the Ugly Duckling’
I found this 2CV Delivery Van in the lobby of a charity foundation called Save the Children in the Hague.
* Born in Paris in 1878, André-Gustave was the 5th and last child of Jewish parents, diamond merchant Levie Citroen from the Netherlands and Masza Amelia Kleinman from Poland, so there is some Dutch heritage here too ;-)
Maybe nice to mention that there are still families called Citroen living in the The Hague area
Funny detail: Citroen is the Dutch word for ‘Lemon’
