Bewildered

There is snow on the ground, it is very cold and windy, but the Maple tree has buds.  Mrs. C. looks a little confused about all of this, as are we.  The weatherman was trying to be reassuring today that the cherry blossoms, won't be affected, but they are so close to bloom, one has to worry.   Initially, the blossoms were supposed to be at peak today and tomorrow, then when the cold weather returned, the date was pushed back to between the 19th and 22nd.  I am hoping for closer to the 19th because I leave town for the BoBB 2017 blipmeet in AZ on the 22nd and could possibly miss them.   When the stars align, sunrise on the Tidal Basin can look like this.  You should note that the date of the link is March 24th and that was considered early too.
