Kirkcudbright
Today's the day ...................... for a high tide
It was all daffodils and trawlers in the little port of Kirkcudbright on the Solway Firth today.
Kirkcudbright is situated on the River Dee a little way upstream from the sea - so boats can only get into the harbour when the tide is high. It seems that many of the times we have been there, the tide is out and there's just a muddy channel. Today, there was lots of water everywhere and it looked like a proper harbour quayside.
The temperature was in double figures and the sun was out. And everywhere, there were daffodils opening their yellow bonnets to celebrate the arrival of spring .........................
