River Almond

There was plenty of fresh air blowing about already but we decided to get out there at Almond Dell
Beginning the walk from the carpark via the visitor centre we went upstream and over the Nasmyth Bridge (seen in the main picture), to follow the river, stopping to admire the aqueduct (extra photo), a curious bridge which carries water from the river as a feeder supply for the canal; we continued to the viaduct, (seen in the extra), crossed it to return to the car.
Admittedly, the wind was quite benign down in the Dell, whereas up at the higher level of the viaduct and carpark we were concerned that there may be branches flying about but we returned undamaged with glowing complexions.
