Thankful for....(relatively) easy choices I have to make in life.
For the indecisive person I am, the moment of epiphany came today when I watched the Polish short film: The Most (The Bridge) which lead to the most terrible climax: a unexpected oncoming train approaches,...and the son falls into the drawbridge gear works while attempting to lower the bridge. What should the father do?
The father chooses to lower the bridge, in effect having the gears crush the boy. The carriage moves on, carrying a drug addict, a scrummy man, amongst a mix of normal commuters who are all unfazed and unaware of the decision that was made. I honestly cannot think of a harder decision one could ever make in their life.
Really puts into perspective the decisions that I am faced with currently, even if it feels like it's going to change my life forever. Granted, this does not detract from how I approach each serious decision, i.e. where to work, where to settle as I should not brush it off as being "trivial" in comparison to the most difficult decisions out there -- but it does somewhat make me feel less anxious and distraught about the fact that I am choosing between two good things rather than two bad things...
Just spewing out thoughts here...
