STICKY BUDS & BEAR'S CLAWS

In the top half, we have sticky buds on my favourite chestnut tree coming unstuck.

Chestnut wood is renowned for discouraging arachnids - beloved by traditional cheesemakers for its ability to keep the mites away.

The bottom half is the first varnishing of a "Bear Claw" Sitka Spruce top.
"Bear Claw" Sitka's a difficult wood because of the squiggles in the grain, but once it's taught you how to treat it -  the result's a great sound.
