There's a bug in my kitchen

I spotted this bug sitting above the frame of one of my kitchen windows last night. I managed to get it into a plastic container with air holes in the lid. It spent the night and this morning in the container but as soon as I got home from work, I went back out with the container to release it. The bug was quite reluctant to go at first though and it also seemed to struggle somewhat on the shrub on which I'd released it, so I let it climb onto a stick and transferred it onto the thicker branch of another shrub, where it seemed to be able to walk much more comfortably.
