At the dock

One of my favorite places to take photos is about 5 miles from home. Calabash, NC is the location. Yes, it's the same place referred to many times by old time entertainer, Jimmy Durante, each time he finished his act.

The Calabash river leads out into the ocean and has been a fishing port for years. The blip today is of a modern fishing boat, but there are still several commercial fishing boats that call this their home port.

I never tire of going to this location. It's a popular tourist attraction with several seafood restaurants at dockside. The sights, sounds, and yes, the smells of a fishing village are hard to beat.
