A cold little Goldfinch
We thought we were going to have an early spring, buds were coming out, tiny leaves were sprouting. Were we wrong! Temperatures fell dramatically several days ago, all the way down to about 33ºf (.55º c), snow flurries, with sleet and freezing rain.
My backyard friends were surprised too. The little Goldfinch in the accompanying photograph huddled near my back window, awaiting his turn at the nearby Finch feeder. Don't you think he looks chilled?
Our problems here in the American South were noting compared to the winter storms that swept through the northeast and midwest.
But, we keep smilin', and so should you too!
