Late Light from Darling Fell

I've always loved the images posted by John Gravett from this location.  It looks along the valley, across Crummock Water and Melbreak, to Buttermere and Haystacks in the far distance.

I'd met up with friends for a quick coffee before heading out to take some photos around the Northern Lakes.  The weather was better than the forecast; at least until about 1 pm when a persistent rain set in for a few hours.  Still it broke in time for this shot, with the last light streaming across Loweswater and illuminating the near fell and trees.  A good end to the day.
