Red Squirrel

On a whim we had a day out at Wallington, a lovely National Trust house & grounds about 20 miles from Newcastle. We chose to do so as we'd heard they had lots of crocuses in the Walled Garden.

Well the crocuses were indeed lovely, but so were the other flowers and the wildlife at the hide. We were particularly lucky to see a red squirrel - apparently they are doing well there at the moment. So instead of crocuses you've got a red squirrel on this blip, and on the extra where it shows its prowess in opening the lid of the feeder!

The crocuses, along with the birds and the other flowers, are available to see on flickr if you like - click on this link. I think I can "feel a longer lens coming on", as the bird photos had to be cropped a lot and are rather grainy...maybe at the Photography Show next Monday!
