Window in the King's room, Oxburgh Hall

No king ever slept here - but it sounds good! There are two of these triform windows with some painted panes in each. I chose this one to blip because it shows some of the view through it. The room is in the gatehouse across the main entrance over the moat so has windows on two sides, one over the moat to the main drive and this one looking into the courtyard and main entrance to the house. You can just see, on the left, some of the extensive scaffolding which is on three sides of the courtyard following the collapse of a dormer window last year - all structures are now being checked and renovated where necessary. The 'extra' photo shows the extent of the scaffolding on just one side.
You may also notice in this window there is a circular 'spider's web' aperture near the top - not a glass pane but an air vent. No wonder the voile curtains over the windows blow about!
