Watch the Birdie!
I took Alan to see the canaries this afternoon and this is the one we chose. It's still too young to know the sex and whilst we'd like a male for it's song and they did have a singing male, it was more of a green colour and we prefer the pure yellow ones - and not just because it co-ordinates with our decor lol!
So there were two to choose from and we decided on this one because it was more alert and was happily chirping, whilst the other one seemed quite nervous. You can see from the picture in my extras that it has quite a bit of white on it's tail feathers. Unfortunately this image isn't very sharp, but it kept hopping from branch to branch because I had my camera in the cage and I only took a couple of shots as I didn't want to freak it out. I also didn't want to startle it with the flash.
The boys are very curious, but are being very good and aren't barking at it. They just keep watching it, and standing on their back legs to get a better look lol!
So we're looking for a name that would work for either a male or a female and the suggestions so far are: Big Bird, Tweety Pie, Sunny, Prosecco, Moet, Austin Feathers, Sylvester, Lemon Sherbet, Goldie, Buttercup, Chirpy, Colin and Camille. At the moment we like Sherbet, but any other suggestions are welcome! He or she seems quite settled in it's new home anyway and is chirping from time to time :-)
