Trouble with the waterworks

Normal Saturday morning routine of a walk into town for a few bits and pieces and the regulation coffee at Leah's. Outside works were going on, not sure if they were replacing a watermain or a main had burst but which ever it was it was causing quite a bit of fun. The hole was at a junction causing a bit of a tight spot for large coaches to negotiate a left turn onto the main street. And I think they're having just as much trouble with their pump which had multiple holes in the hose, the major hole can be seen in this shot. The worker down the hole was showered now and again as well as all the equipment.

The afternoon different to the usual Saturday afternoon. Normally I'd be refereeing or watching referees but for the second weekend running, I've not had an appointment. On the positive side it gave me time to get to the allotment again to finish off the potato bed, make a start on the roots bed and do a bit of hoeing up on the other areas just to break up the surface
