Starting small.
Friends who looked at yesterday's blip will have seen the impressive cushion plants completely covered with yellow flowers. In the wild they can be up to 50cm. In diameter.
Here is a starter kit which I bought at the show yesterday. It is Dionysia aretioides x luorum.
These are challenging to grow. They must be kept in an alpine house with lots of ventilation and watered only from below.
In the wild they grow in the mountains of northern Iran.
This was sold to me by Esme on the Lakeland Horticultural Society stall. So I can be sure it is healthy and long lived.
