Park life....
A very wet and drizzly day - but the kids were in their waterproofs, so we headed out to Dalkeith Country Park, which I'd been raving to Iain about since visiting a few weeks ago with work.
The good thing about such crappy weather is that the play park, Fort Douglas, was practically empty. No queuing, no waiting.....perfect. We ever managed to nab one of the two sheltered tables for our picnic.
A walk, some puddle jumping, and a look round the shop, then back home, with a plan of making pasta with the SBG - except it turned out the pasta flour, and most of the other flour in the cupboard had weevils. Gads. Instead we made pesto (emergency spaghetti in the cupboard) while I threw out lots of baking things and cleaned out the cupboard.
The eldest SBG was then driven to a friend's house for a sleepover, while the girls and began watching When Marnie Was There....then they went to bed and Iain and I watched the remake of The Magnificent Seven.
