A tale of tar and teeth

Our neighbours' holly tree is rapidly losing its lower leaves. I think that this is due to a fungal infection which manifests itself as numerous black spots on the upper surface. Possibly holly tar spot or holly blight but I'm not at all sure.

The "extra" looks like a pair of fossil teeth but they are in reality a couple of Tamarind seeds from yesterday's curry.
