A Room With A View
This is the view from my room, straight down the Lorton Valley to England's highest mountain - Scafell Pike (978m/3,209ft) - the summit just to the right of centre, at the back (with a wisp of cloud). Kirk Fell is the rounded shadow beneath, and the High Stile ridge is to the right. Left of centre is Grasmoor and Whiteside. Ten minutes before this photo was taken, I couldn't see a thing as heavy rain was passing through. Then the air cleared and visibility returned, so I simply opened the window and snapped. Photography made simple!
