Mono Monday – Community
My contribution to Mono Monday is the building that was home to the Old Baptist Community in the village. It was formed in 1719 and was enlarged (or essentially re-built) 1865/66. There was a split in the congregation in the 1830’s when a second chapel was opened. This second chapel functioned for some 70 years when the two communities came back together at this church. It’s unclear when services ceased but when we came to the village in 1978 it was being used as a storage and distribution centre for bibles.
The building is now being used as a design centre and showroom for high end leather goods.
