Fruit of the vine

Have you ever heard of the chocolate vine- akebia quinata? My neighbour brought over this fruit from it. It is a pest plant in New Zealand apparently and doesn't have many fruit. The flowers are chocolate scented and a purply-brown colour. After looking it up in wikipedia and finding it is edible I did nibble it. Not much flesh and too many seeds and the flavour bland. I thought it was cotton wool stuff all over it but it is very sticky and waxy. However it is something new and a blip.
