anywhere but here

down to newcastle today, check out a sale or two and the cinema to see 'australia'. it got mixed reviews, but really i just wanted to see the scenery, having spent time in darwin, the northern territory and the kimberley, where it took place and was filmed. it's v baz lurhmann, but it works - probably because the aboriginal kid is great, rather than because of the award-winning, above-the-title stars. the scenery is, needless to say, amazing. i want to go back so badly!
