Ardea Herodias

AKA ... Great Blue Heron.

We both had today off as it's Labor Day here. And it was a soggy end to our long weekend!

After doing some shopping we stopped by our favorite duck watching spot. Since it was raining, I just rolled down my window to check it out. (Hey, I didn't want to get wet!) All the ducks were too far out in the water for a decent shot. As we were driving away I spotted this Great Blue Heron. It was still pouring down rain, so I took this from inside the truck. Between the rain and the lighting I knew the photo wasn't going to be the best.
