Ready reckoning - more or less

The farm road that can form part of figure-of-eight round the house, takes exactly six minutes to walk.    Or 1 tenth of an hour.    Assuming a reasonable 2.5 miles per hour, that makes the farm road a quarter of a mile long.   Which feels about right.

I was gratified that I managed that piece of mental arithmetic so easily.
