Tina was happy with the views from their new house but it was a pain only getting out once a day.


Fort Maunsell, Nr.1. The Isle of Grain.

Leftover from WW2 this is one of the remaining fortifications that covered the Thames Estuary and London from enemy attack. The Maunsell Forts in the estuary itself and those near Liverpool were quite futuristic and remind me of the War of the Worlds machines.

The Thames was at low tide and is the only time access can be gained without the use of a boat. As I didn't have my boots I contented myself with this shot. FYI I have marked the map.
