Standstill

This was the scene one and a half hours into my journey this morning.

A journey that takes fifteen minutes on a bad day took all of two hours

I got to work, eventually, many didn't. Cars were abandoned, artics were jack-knifing and many children didn't get to school.

As you can see the snow turned to rain but by that time the damage was done with vehicles stuck at side of road.

The snow was forecast, this is a major A road. Questions must be asked why it was not treated appropriately?

The cost to the economy was £millions, currently salt trades at £35 / tonne
