Amaryllis

In the school science prep room we have a very tall Amaryllis which is now in full bloom.  It was a present to one of the teachers a year or so ago, flowered then and was then largely forgotten about.  The bulb looked rotten and it was assumed that it would not flower again, but after a little watering it has grown and produced lovely blooms again.

I tried to photograph it to show its full shape, but the prep room doesn't provide an attractive backdrop (and the lighting is far from ideal) so I have just concentrated on a detail.
