Juno

Iris magnifica, one of a large group of irises known as Junos.   Characterised by their sword or leek like leaves, although bulbous they also have thick fleshy roots which persist from one year to the next from which fine, feeding roots grow annually.  Many are tricky or downright difficult to cultivate but this is one of the easier ones, seen here in a free draining, sunny raised bed in the garden.
