Franklin's Gardens

This is the lake behind the south stand at Franklin's Gardens, home of Northampton Saints rugby club. We had a reserves' home game this evening against Leicester's 2nd XV and Saints 'Wanderers' beat them convincingly, 47-14.

When I first started visiting Saints, about 30 years ago, there was no stand and whenever there was a conversion at that end, the ball would splash into the lake. There used to be a wee man in a boat who would paddle out to the ball and fish it out!
