Rough Day on the Firth
In fact a rough day all over the north, thanks to the back end of Hurricane Kirk'
But at least all the wind we are having, is warm.
This photo was taken at 11.0 oclock this morning from in front of the Lifeboat Station. The old ferry pier is in the middle of the photo. This was used up until 1981, when the bridge was opened to cross from Inverness-shire into Ross-shire in taking the main A9 trunk road north.
The white house to the right of the photo, is the Lock Keepers House situated at the entrance to the Caledonian Canal, where Yachts and small ships and cruisers go through if they are travelling west.
But as you can see, you would need your sea legs today. All the yachts moored in the firth were really getting tossed around today.
So my blip today is a Rough Day on the Firth.
