Day 13

Overnight at Dog Falls and woke up to snow!  Could hardly believe it when I opened the van door at 7am!  Thick snow, crunchy and magical, wonderful and beautiful.  Just like a Christmas card!  Absolutely lovely.  Would have been folly to stay as the snow was still falling and we didn't want to get stuck, but it was sad to pack up and leave!

Luckily the road was passable and we made our way to Strathpeffer where sadly most things were closed, but we had excellent coffee and cake at The Coffee Shop, a really nice place, worth a visit. Wonderful 1920s and 30s music playing!  A lovely atmosphere!

To Glenrory for a super riverside walk through the forest.  Ollie loved it, a real chance to stretch his legs and get good and muddy!  Terrific scenery too.  He was in seventh heaven!

Parked up at Lairg for the night and were snug and cosy, in our sleeping bags with all our layers on, with our books by 8pm!  What a day!
