Water water everywhere
As I followed the usual dog walk I was surprised how mild and bright it was after the really cold day yesterday. Observation of the river though, came as a something of a surprise as the level was so much higher than I expected. In fact sitting on the seat to watch the day go by and the swans and ducks go about theirs would have meant dabbling my feet in the water. Normally there is at least a 5m walk to the railings and a drop of probably 2 m to the river. Obviously the downpour and the run off further upstream was quite severe presumably because the water table is so high after the winter's rainfall. In the past the river rose and covered the high street to a depth of about 2 m so on reflection it's probably not that bad really.
The photo of the hillside often has sheep on it and the pub close by to the water's edge make a great place to sit in the summer. Just a matter of training the pup up for it this year.
