This is Paul Laverty, who wrote the script for Ken Loach's I, Daniel Blake. He happens to be a parent at Harvie and Gigi's school and arranged for a community screening at the school to help raise money for its equity fund and donations for the local food bank. It was fantastic to see the film and then hear from Paul about the background to making it, from his meetings with DWP whistleblowers about the target driven culture and official obfucation surrounding access to benefits and the stories of the many Daniels and Katies who informed the film.
