Peg Colour
The grim conditions continue outside although the rain has stopped for the present. Nothing looks bright, though. I am reduced to playing with pegs from the clothes line in search of some CMC17 bright colour.
Curiously, blue things ... ANY blue things ... are of supreme interest to Australia's male bower birds. Anytime one drops a blue peg on the ground, don't expect it to be there next time you go to the line. Some bower bird will have nicked it. If you come across a bower bird's "bower" in the wild, it is invariably festooned with ill gotten blue bits and pieces of every description.
Evidently it's all in an effort to attract females. Not only does a bloke have to build the bower and stock it with treasure, it seems he also has to dance about like a lunatic, flaunting his blue feathers, whenever a female snootily drops in to inspect. Sounds like pretty hard work to get laid if you ask me.
