The Queens Compartment

Continuing the Queen Victoria theme from yesterday, this picture is of the Steam Railways Queens Compartment. Constructed on an original four wheeler chassis the compartment replicates the carriage in which which Queen Victoria would travel when residing on the island.
She would occupy one of the 'armchairs' with her immediate retinue whilst those of lessor ranking would travel in the saloon beyond the interconnecting door.
This carriage is just one of many lovingly restored by the Carriage and Waggon workshop.
