Time and Tide

This morning I felt like a drive and after a quick look at the map decided on the Boulder Bank.  I always thought it was man made  but no it is naturally formed although there is some debate about what processes moved the boulders here.  Long shore drift is the most quoted process.  The bank is 13 kilometers or 8 miles.  It separates Tasman Bay and the Nelson Haven.  Reading the geology of it makes my brain hurt.  I think it is boulders swept southwards by sea currents over thousands of years.  Standing on the top you are maybe 2 metres or 6ft above the sea.
