flowers for mum ...

A lovely spring day. Hard to think there was snow earlier this week!
Did the shopping and minded Fred for a bit. Did some gardening, very little but a start. With help got a bed of potatoes planted, started taking out a conifer that has grown too big too close to the house. Bought new petrol and tried to get the mower started but found it has some serious fault and all the petrol is running out. 
But it was nice to be outside in the sunshine. 

Heard from an old friend about another old very dear friend who has had a stroke and isn't recovering very well and needs constant care. He is on the other side of the world, and it came home to me that I will almost certainly never see him again. Feeling sad.
