Magnolia Stellata

This Star Magnolia is fully open now.  It always opens before the larger Magnolia Grandiflora, which is full of buds but none open yet.  I am using this shot as part of my homework for ATWMC which this week is continuing looking at composition techniques, such as what is out of frame..  For this I have left part of some flowers at the edge of the frame to suggest that there there are more just out of our view.  I could have cropped them out but liked this composition.  The lessons seem to be sinking in, because I would previously have just been satisfied to take a shot that was in focus and looked ok, but now I am looking much more closely at what the finished effect will be. Long way to go but making a start I think.
