I had to drop my daughter off in Lewes early this morning so the spaniel and I were then able to have a nice 12 mile morning walk from Firle to Alfriston along the Old Coach Road and back along the South Downs Way. It was very windy but there were still a few brimstones and small tortoiseshells on the wing.
