Le petit dejeuner en plain air!
Spring has sprung! Breakfast in the garden! Gorgeous morning!
Dropped C at his pals so he could be taken to band camp for the day. Drove to Bonnyrigg to take D to play 5 aside mini football. Spent a very pleasant hour or so standing in the sun watching him. After footie we headed to Dobbies for tea n scones with Lindsay and Freddie, then Mums wandered round the plants while the boys stealth followed us round...the clatter of their football boots made it easy to know where they were! We then came back home - I convinced D to help in the garden planting some bargain viola that I got for 60p in Tesco. He was reluctant but afterwards admitted "it's actually quite fun planting things isn't it mum?" :-D
We then headed to Beeslack to watch C in the band day concert - they were fab. Even D thought so and he was a most reluctant audience member! In the last concert I saw the little ones had very small & simple parts, but now are definitely part of the youth band - lovely to see. The conductor was saying they are going to be a good group and ready for competitions soon. argh more taxi by mum to fit in
If anyone had said to me 10 years ago that I would spend my Saturday watching a 7 year olds football match, going to a garden centre and then watching my 10 year old play in a brass band concert and would have had the loveliest of days I wouldn't have believed them! But I have had a lovely day - so fab to see them doing what they enjoy :-) esp when I know I get to do my long run tomorrow :-)
