Mum to be.
We were told that there were five eggs , but we could only see two as Mrs Swan adjusted her position and very carefully tucked the eggs in underneath her feathers, and settled back down for a few more weeks.
I didn't stay too long, as the cob was swimming in my direction, and the nest was quite near the towpath.
We decided to have a day off from gardening, and have a peaceful day walking along the Pocklington Canal, on another glorious spring day.
As well as the song of robins, wrens, chaffinches, chiff chaffs and others we couldn't recognise, I saw my first butterflies.
A Brimstone, several Peacocks, and Small Tortoiseshells. ( see extra photo)
Lots of wild flowers, and daffodils.
Met with a few dog walkers, and got chatting to a nice couple about walking, bird watching, holidays in France among other things.
Nice surprise when I got back home to find a Mother's Day card and bottle of perfume on the doorstep. Just a pity we were out when he called.
Hope you have all had a happy day.
