Passing by

A bus day. I took the bus from Trincomalee to Horowpotana and from there to Anuradhapura. At each bus station I had to wait less than 10 minutes before the bus left (very slowly and stopping every few meters to pick up more people on its way out of town). The whole journey took about 4 hours.


The road passed through a very rural area. It was mainly large expanses of fields (lots of rice paddies) interspersed with trees and there were a few large lakes. Unlike other parts of Sri Lanka that I’ve seen, here there weren’t many villages and they seemed further away from each other. This is a phone shot from the bus.
