Chard

Another nice day, that's two in a row. Can't last. A shortened game of golf this morning due to me not changing the alarm clock last night (or any other clock or watch in the house to be fair) and arriving an hour late but it did at least give me a chance to practice my pitching which has been particularly naff of late. And after twenty odd minutes of practice I was completely crap. Practice is overrated anyway!

It was back down to the allotment later to finish digging in the compost while the sun shone. It's done, thank goodness; my back just about held out but it was starting to complain by the end. That last bed is a bugger because it's full of roots from the cherry tree that we cut down a couple of years ago. It's a tree for life I think, the roots haven't sussed yet that they're on their own and are still growing away merrily! I was tempted to dig up the chard but it's starting to regrow after being munched on all winter by rabbit, pigeon and slug so I've left it for now. Maybe it'll provide for some human munching too.
