Back home the Hero

I said we were going to Sleaford, a round trip of 324 miles including motorways as well as 'A' roads, and that we had to take the little Alto.
I was very unsure due to the fact that in 13 years it had never done a trip of more than 10 miles, until a couple of recent 15 mile ones to the Forest of Dean. I just was not comfortable with the thought of driving all that way and back.
Well, she did it and did us proud. Not a stutter, falter, or breakdown at all. 3hr 20min there and back again and without a single stop. Plus it was all done on a single tank of petrol!
Ok, she doesn't have air conditioning (and it was quite warm on the way back today), no mod cons or electronics but I am immensely proud of her, so much so that we are going to do it again next Thursday so we can take Betty, F.M.i.L, up to see Julias' house.
